Thomas H. New
Thomas H. New, age 72 of Mantua, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Born in Paulsboro, he had been a resident of Mantua since 1999. Tom served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Army-Navy Garrison in National Park. He retired from Mobil Oil after 34 years. Husband of the late Janet K. (nee Munyon), he is survived by his daughter Lisa New, his son Thomas H. New Jr., 6 step children Lynne, Darlene, Janetlee, Lisa Mullin, Bethann and Derek Miller, father-in-law Meredith Ayres, beloved grandchildren Deanna Howard, Kristy Palmer, Thomas & Derek Mullin, 2 great grandchildren Antwaun & Edward, four sisters Theresa Norris, Marie Frazier, Jane Garrison, and Roberta Cohen, his brother Robert New. Also by his beloved friend Ruth Thorne and his pride and joy Bentley the cat. Tom was predeceased by daughter Debbie Ann New. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9:30 to 11 AM Tuesday, January 29th at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 11 AM.
