Obituary for Walter E. Klodnicki Sr.

Klodnicki, Sr., Walter E., age 82 of Mantua, NJ died Sunday July 22, 2007, in Underwood Memorial Hospital. Born in Scranton, PA, Mr. Klodnicki was a Mantua resident for 50 years. He served in the US Army in World War II with the 17th Airborne Division, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds sustained at the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Klodnicki was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and past commander of Post 7679 in Mantua. He retired from the US Postal Service after 30 years. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and cultivating his flower and vegetable garden. He loved solving crossword puzzles and cryptograms, working with his computer, and staying abreast of current events. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Wenonah where he will be missed by many friends.Walter was the devoted husband of the late Ruth J. Klodnicki for nearly 50 years. He is survived by four sons Dr. Walter E. Klodnicki Jr. and his wife Denise of Voorhees, Chet A. and his wife Marge of Plainfield, IL, John J. and his wife Terry of Mullica Hill, Ken P. and his wife Kim of Voorhees, ten adoring grandchildren, a brother Edward and a sister Lottie Knitowski, both of Scranton, PA. He is predeceased by a son, David H. Klodnicki.Relatives and friends may visit with the family after 10 AM Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, N.
