Born in Gibbstown, Bill was a 4th generation DuPont employee who served as a Supervisor before retiring. He graduated from Paulsboro high school then enlisted in the Navy for four years. He continued to serve honorably in the Navy reserves for another four years. During his service he met and married the love of his life Mickey (Margaret) . They enjoyed a full life traveling and camping with their children and friends until Mickey's passing in 1998.

In the early 2000's he met long time companion of 20 years, Harriet Heritage, with whom he shares a passion for the Jersey shores. They spent their time enjoying the beach and eating out, especially at Uncle Bill's Pancake House.
He was kind to others, often giving flowers to friends, his doctors offices and poinsettias to the YMCA at Christmas. Bill enjoyed "tinkering" around the house, bowling and watching the Phillies and Washington Commanders. He lived a life well lived.
