William Louis Simonini, 78, of Mantua, New Jersey, passed away during the evening of January 7, 2023. Bill was born on September 26, 1944, in Harvard, Illinois, to beloved parents Esther (Roznowski) and Louis Simonini. A star Hornet athlete at Harvard High School, Bill excelled at football (QB-HB-DB), wrestling, baseball and track. He played football while attending the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and served in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. His dedicated and long career included working at Admiral Corporation and TWA (Chicago), John Sexton & Co. (Pittsburgh-Boston-Philadelphia) and Sysco Foods (Tampa) in numerous sales, management and corporate roles.

Bill thoroughly enjoyed his well-deserved retirement (in 2009) after 45 years, including living the beach life in St. Pete Beach, Florida, playing golf, coordinating events at Church of the Incarnation, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus membership (Grand Knight Officer), and of course spending time with his extended family, countless friends, and his dog Lucy. A lifelong sports fan, perhaps highlighted by his Philadelphia Eagles victory in Super Bowl LII, Bill coached soccer and was incredibly committed to attending his grandsons’ out of state cross country/track meets and basketball/baseball games without fail.

Bill was truly the shining light of our lives. Among Bill’s notable attributes were his infectious personality, natural leadership ability, expert salesmanship and people skills, fun storytelling, affability, selflessness, winning smile, and unwavering love for all. And everyone loved him in return. Bill’s legacy will live on in all who had the opportunity to cross paths with him.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jogues Simonini, and brothers-in-law, Joe Demay and Bill Coughlan. Survivors: sister, Judy Simonini Demay; beloved wife, Mary-Jane (Coughlan) Simonini; step daughter, Phyllis Talbot (Billy Talbot); sisters-in-law, Jennet Simonini, Peggy Nielsen, Cathy Smith, JoAnne DiCicco; brothers-in-law, Joseph Coughlan, Stephen Coughlan, Donald Coughlan; Louis Sean Simonini, aka his dad’s “#1 son”; daughter-in-law, Candace Marie Simonini; grandsons, Sean Caden Simonini, Jack Louis Simonini, Conor Talbot, Alex Talbot, Jake Talbot; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
