Obituary for Woodrow Wilson Hutchins Jr.

Woodrow Wilson Hutchins, Jr. age 85, of Sewell, NJ passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill, NJ. He was born in Bethars, PA and grew up in Morristown, NJ. Woodrow served four years in the Navy where he learned the trade to be a pipefitter. One of the few ships Woodrow served on was the U.S.S Valley Forge aircraft carrier. Woodrow and his predeceased wife Elizabeth of nearly 50 years, purchased their first home in 1962 in Buckingham Village, Sewell, NJ. They raised two children and lived there for the remainder of their lives. Woodrow was an entrepreneur and started his own plumbing business in 1972 called Woody's Plumbing. He ran his own business for over 30 years. Woodrow’s favorite pastime was camping, golfing and fishing. He loved all animals, enjoyed watching wildlife and donated to many animal charities. Woodrow also enjoyed attending church at the Mantua Baptist Church and reading the Bible.

Husband of the late Elizabeth (St. John) Hutchins, he is survived by 2 children: son Woodrow W. Hutchins III (Linda E.), daughter Maryann S. Hooper (James F. Jr.), 3 grandchildren: Woodrow W. Hutchins IV, (Nicolette DiGiovanni), Mellisa Hutchins, ( Dimitri Ditullio) James P. Hooper, (Heather Cook), great grandchildren: Braeden Hutchins, Austin Hutchins, Luca Ditullio, Asher Ditullio, Nyx Hooper, brothers: Jacob Hutchins, Ronald Hutchins, Mark Hutchins, David Hutchins, Richard Haines, sister: Barbra Hutchins Strawley. Predeceased by brother Kenneth Hutchins.

Family and Friends are invited to visit from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday. Burial with Navy honors to follow at Eglington Cemetery, 320 Kings Hwy, Clarksboro, New Jersey 08020.
