Obituary for Jeffrey A. Reichert

Jeffrey A. Reichert
Jeffrey Allen Reichert, 54, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born September 13, 1962, Jeff grew up in West Deptford. He graduated from West Deptford High School (Class of 1980) and joined the U.S. Navy, serving for 11 years. Jeff was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Following his Naval service, he served 5 years in the National Guard. Jeff spent 22 years as a Boiler Operator, most recently at Covanta as a Shift Supervisor. Jeff enjoyed his years singing with the Charleston Men’s Chorus. He had a great love of music and dance, especially Manna’s music. He enjoyed every dog he ever saw and loved feeding his birds in the back yard. Jeff was always the life of the party, lighting up every room he entered. His practical jokes put smiles on our faces all the time. Spending time with friends and family meant the world to him. He was always the favorite fun Uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. His passion for experiencing new cultures led Jeff to travel to many places around the world with a plan of retiring in Colombia, where despite not speaking much of the native language he has many cherished friends and a large extended family. Predeceased by parents Don and Barb Reichert, he is survived by his wife, Ana Cecilia Reichert and daughter Celie Reichert. Also survived by sisters Judy Munns (Joe) and Jan Lipman and a loving extended family.
Family and Friends may visit from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 21st, and from 9 am to 10 am Thursday, December 22nd, at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Memorial Service will be held at 10 am. Burial to follow at Woodbury Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the following organizations: the Charleston Men's Chorus https://charlestonmenschorus.org or the Audubon Society http://www.audubon.org
