Obituary for Annabel Thornton (Bateman)

Annabel Thornton, (nee Bateman) age 99 was peacefully called home by her Lord on December 26, 2014. She was a resident of Pitman Manor for the last nine years. Annabel was a quiet, caring, independent woman who had little, but gave very much. Annabel was very religious and devoted to her family. She is preceded in death by husband Newton, a son Gerald, sister June Leonard, a brother Frank Bateman. She is survived by a sister Genemarie Mitchell, daughters Marjorie Kean-Tripp (Lee), Sandra Ann Kolinofsky (George), a son Richard (Ruth). Annabel is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grand-children, and one great-great grandchild. Annabel was born in Oil City, Pennsylvania and was raised in Salamanki, New York. She was a resident of Glassboro, New Jersey and Henryville, Pennsylvania for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with family on Wednesday, December 31 at the Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, New Jersey. A separate service will be held at Barnett Funeral Home, Main Street, Emporium, Pennsylvania prior to internment at Newton Cemetery, Emporium Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Pitman Manor 535 N. Oak Street, Pitman, N.J. 08071 would be appreciated.
