Obituary for Bessie M. Hopely (Locke)

Bessie M. Hopely (nee Locke) age 97, of Barnsboro passed away on Thursday, August 7th, 2014. Born in Philadelphia, she had been a resident of Barnsboro since 1978. Bessie and her husband owned and operated Barnsboro Gas Station & Luncheonette, a motel in Delaware, and a boat rental business in Fortescue, NJ. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Pitman.
Wife of the late Philip W. Hopely, she is survived by her daughter, Marion Hopely, son Robert Hopely (Valerie), 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Bessie was also predeceased by her son Philip D. Hopely Sr. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:30 to 11:00 AM Monday August 11th, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Donations can be made to a charity of your choice. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com
