Obituary for Clara M. Rishel (Amand)
Clara M. Rishel (nee Amand), age 100, of Sewell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024. Clara dedicated her life to her husband and to raising their family as a longtime homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, arts and crafts, tending her houseplants, canning and preserving food from the garden, as well as camping and traveling. She was happiest when surrounded by her loving family.
Clara is survived by her children, Chuck Rishel and wife Jean, Ron Rishel and wife Penny, Bob Rishel and wife Pat, Doug Rishel and wife Lisa, and Theresa Gondolf and husband Frank, as well as 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and her sister, Rosemary Dougherty. Clara was predeceased by her loving husband Charles H. Rishel Sr, daughter Barbara Rishel, and her siblings Edward Amand and Marie Mills.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 8:00am - 10:00am on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Our Lady Queen of Peace RC Church, 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071, with burial to follow at Wenonah Cemetery in Mantua, NJ 08051.
