Daniel P. Platt Jr. age 80, of Mantua Twp. formerly life long resident of West Deptford passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Born in Thorofare, he served in the Army during the Korean War. Dan worked as a financial consultant for John Hancock Financial for 35 years. He was an active member of the Lake Garrison Family and the Delaware Valley Apartment Association. Dan had a wonderful sense of humor, was hard working, and persevered through every life challenge sent his way.

Husband of the late Alma (nee Hopkins), he is survived by his children, Joyce Platt of Clementon, Deborah Kaczka (Tom) of Mantua, and Daniel P. Platt III (Diana) of Berlin. Also survived by his grandchildren, Michael (Joyce), Tommy (Jamie), and great grandson Brody; Alyssa (Aaron), Christopher (Alyssa) and Gregory; Matthew, Daniel IV, Stephanie and Lisa, and his brother Robert Platt. Visitation with the family will be 10 to 11 AM Saturday, January 31st, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 47 Main Street Mantua, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM.
