Eileen and I have had a friendship that has spanned 55 years!
We kept in touch via snail mail before e-mail.
We corresponded regularly. We often talked of Suitland where we both grew up and where we went to high school together. I will surely miss her. We either started or ended our mail with the words "best friend".

Eileen loved her entire family and was proud of each and every one of them. They in return cared for her and assisted her however they could. I envied how close they were. They always got together for family events and had a great time when they did. Eileen missed her life partner, Arthur greatly and now they will once again be together.

Eileen loved watching the deer, turkeys, hummingbirds, etc that would come through her yard. She always shared her experiences with me which I greatly enjoyed.

Eileen, I will miss my "best friend forever".

With love, your best friend forever,
Mattie

I have known Eileen since high school in Suitland, Maryland. My sister Mattie was her best friend but I considered her a good friend too. It was always fun when we would get together for pajama parties. I can still see EIleen in hair curlers. Such fun memories of times we shared. It was always great to get her letters updating us on all the family events, grandchildren and hearing about animals and hummingbirds that came to visit her. It always made me feel like I was right there sharing everything that was going on. Eileen is going to be missed but we all know she is in heaven and reunited with Arthur who she has missed since his passing. Eileen will not be forgotten. She was a joy to many, so caring and loving. She and Arthur are together now and will be looking over all their family and friends. Missing you already Eileen! God Bless you, Arthur and your family and friends! Joannie

I met Mrs Allen many moons ago when I met her daughter Joy we became instant friends. When she worked at Sears I would always make it a point to go in and look for her.. She always came out with a smiling face and a hug.. She will be missed.
