Elaine was employed for many years by CBS Records in Pitman in the data entry department. She finished her working career retiring from Glassboro State College, (now known as Rowan University).

Elaine enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading. She was an avid baker, making all kinds of treats, cookies and cakes for her friends, family and church activities. She was a member of the Richwood UMC.

She is predeceased by her late husband, Jeremiah R. Powell in 1982 and her late husband Donald “Ralph” McBride in 2015, her daughter, Cheryl D. Rudd, a brother Allen E. Gardner, and step son John McBride (Donna). She is survived and will be sadly missed by her children, Lynn Powell-Heulings (Robert) of Maurice River Twp., the Hon. (ret) J. R. Powell (Dianne) of Mantua Twp., and Terri Jeffers (Timm) of Mullica Hill. She was a loving grandmother to her 8 grandchildren, Barbara Murphy, Greg Powell (Linda), Joy Bonsted (David), Sarah Powell Lee (Jack), Jillian Young (Bryan), Josh Thompson, Brandi Trotta ( Rick), and Kelli Thompson; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, and her step-children, Michael McBride, (MaryAnn), Gary McBride, Donald McBride, and Kathy Shellem (Rich).

For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Richwood United Methodist Church, PO Box 7, Richwood, NJ 08074, or to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington DC, 20090-6011.
