Buddys cast

This is a fuzzy memory, so the details may not be exact:  I remember one time when Buddy was pretending to run like my sister (she had a funny, almost silly way of running).  He ended up twisting and I think breaking his ankle.  Ended up in a cast.  I remember writing on the cast something like:  "that's what you get for acting like an idiot".  Mr. McCafferty wrote under that:  "that was no act!".  Although the details are fuzzy, it's one of the most fondest memories of Mr. McCafferty.  That was a classic example of his humor.  His wit.  His sarcasm (which I loved the best).  The world needs more people like Mr. McCafferty.  Whenever I visited or talked to him, it was always a treat, as I knew it would be friendly, funny and I'd come away from it shaking my head and laughing myself silly.  He'll be missed, and never forgotten.
