James William ''Bill" Datz, age 82 of Mullica Hill, NJ died Sunday, January 20, 2013. Born in Swedesboro, he had been a resident of Mullica Hill all his life. Mr. Datz served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955 and was a graduate of Glassboro High School and Glassboro State College. Baseball and football were his choice of sports and he was honored in the Glassboro High School, Glassboro State College, and Gloucester County Sports Halls of Fame. Mr. Datz was Principal for 26 years at Woodbury Heights Elementary School retiring in 1988. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Husband of the late Margaret A.(nee Downey), he is survived by three sons David and his wife Susan of Mickleton, Jeffrey and his wife Stacy of Shingle Springs, CA, Richard and his wife Kimberly of Marlton, 4 grandchildren Sandy, David, Carley, Matthew Datz, and one sister Teresa Holtzhouser. Brother of the late Jack, Austin, and Bob Datz. Relatives and friends may visit with the family 6:30 to 9 PM Wednesday, January 23rd and 10 AM to 10:45 AM Thursday, January 24th at Catholic Community Of The Holy Spirit At Holy Name Of Jesus Church Parish Center 17 Earlington Avenue, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday. Interment will be in Holy Name Of Jesus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Church.
