Joanne Carter Schaub (Rode) age 73, of Mantua Twp. passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 13th, 2014. Born in Clarksboro, she was a Gloucester County resident all of her life. Joanne was an active member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church for 62 years serving as a Sunday school teacher & youth leader for many years. She was a member of her church group the ''chit chats'' whom were dear to her heart for 50 yrs. Joanne was Always first to help plan events for many family and friends. She was known as ''Mom Mom'' to many and loved caring for her own grandchildren as well as the children of many family and friends over the years.
Joanne Is survived by her loving husband John R. Schaub, son Bill Rode (Kathy), 3 daughters Debbie Rode-Hartman, Amy Rode Brown (Brian), Elizabeth Schaub Mensch (Paul), 2 sisters, Peg (Carter) Shiles, Alice (Carter) Gregal (George) & brother Phil Carter (Janet), 10 grandchildren Debbie, Steven, Connie, Shane, Kirby, Billie, Kelli, Shelby, Lily, Ian & 2 great grandchildren Liela & Iris. Family and Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday March 19th, 2014 from 9 AM to 11 AM at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main St. Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.
