Forsman, John G. Sr., age 78 of Mantua, on Wednesday July 18, 2007. John was a resident of Mantua all of his life. He served in the 82nd Airborne, was the Commander of American Legion Post # 305 of Mantua, and had owned and operated Forsman Bros. Garage in Mantua with his brother Reinard. John served as an Elder at his church and enjoyed boating, fishing, and camping along the Delaware River and the Chesapeake Bay.Husband of Shirley A.(nee Pierce), he is also survived by his children: John G. Forsman Jr. (Donna) of Washington Twp, Peggy Ruah McGee (Bill) of Mantua, Kate Forsman of Deptford, Harold Wittmeyer (Patty) of Inlet, NY Lynn Datz (Mike) of Mullica Hill, Bonnie Satanoff (Chuck) of Pitman,18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, two sisters: Madeline Wassman (Dick) of Deptford, Victoria Koenig of Gloucester City, many nieces and nephews, and his pets, Phoenix and Zack. John was predeceased by sons Ted & Chalie, brothers, Swan, Charles, Reinard, and sister Frances.Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9 to 10:45 AM Wednesday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main St. Mantua. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Presbyterian Church of Wenonah 202 E. Mantua Ave., Wenonah, NJ at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in Wenonah Cemetery.
