Obituary for Joyce Thompson

Joyce Thompson (nee Jendrzejewski) 73, of Wenonah "Oak Valley" passed away on Monday, July 13th, 2015. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA she was the daughter of Ernest S. Jendrzejewski and Clara (nee Sikora). Joyce was a graduate of Marymount High School Class of 1959 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and College Misericordia Class of 1963 in Dallas, PA where she earned her bachelor of science in chemistry. Upon graduating from college she worked as a researcher at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Joyce was a member of Infant Jesus Parish in Woodbury Heights, NJ and enjoyed baking, gardening, antiquing, thrift shopping, reading, watching Fox News and adventures with grandchildren.

Wife of Harold A. "Hank" Thompson, she is survived by her children, Ernest H. Thompson of Deptford, NJ, Robert M. Thompson of Bridgeport, CT, Alan Thompson of Bellmawr, NJ, Harold Thompson of Pitman, NJ, and Elizabeth Burek of Williamstown, NJ, brothers, Ernest T. Jendrzejewski & Joseph Jendrzejewski, her sister, Carolyn Jendrzejewski all of Wilkes-Barre, PA, 4 grandchildren, Tori M. Thompson, Stephen R. Burek, Samuel E. Burek, & Alec M. Thompson.

Family & friends may visit from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday, July 15th and 9 to 10:15 AM Thursday, July 16th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM at Infant Jesus Parish at St. Margaret's Church, 3rd & Beech Streets, Woodbury Heights, NJ. Burial will follow at Wenonah Cemetery.
