Mahlon B. ''Skeeter'' Pierce, age 68 of Oak Valley, passed away on Friday, March 26th, 2010.  He served in the Navy and the Army during Vietnam and retired from the National Guard after combined 26 years of service. He had also worked as a Rigger at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard.  He was a longtime member & Past Post Commander of Mantua VFW 7679 and was Past Commander  of VFW District 13 in Gloucester County. He also belonged to the American Legion and MOC.Husband of Mary Jane (nee Furman), he is also survived by his children, Christopher M., Charles J. (and his wife Bridgett), Clifford T. (and his wife Linda) and Robin A. and grandchildren: Crystal, Chelsea, Cliff, Dillon and Amber. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 2 PM.   As an expression of sympathy contributions in Skeeter’s memory may be made to the Mantua VFW, 8 New York Ave. Mantua, NJ  08051.
