So, in the 1980's Bonnie and I went AWOL (or not) from our retail job (just for a day, and I believe we followed all the rules of notifying them), and Bonnie said that she wanted a dog. I already had a young Golden Retriever, Jackson, and I am not sure that had anything to do with her decision. So, being the kind of friends that we are (think Grace & Frankie, or Bonnie & Clyde,--you get the idea) off we went to the SPCA and Bonnie adopted her German Shephard, Max. I think I picked him out for her. Well, she knows clothes and style, and I know dogs. I think she waited a few hours to tell Mark that he was a "new dad." The point of this rememberance, is that they did have any kids yet, but, Mark never, ever gave Bonnie a hard time or disageement about this wonderful dog, unasked by him, and that is amazing. It shows you how much he loved her, what a stand-up, compassionate man he was. And the proof in the pudding is how great Bonnie and Mark's sons are. I know he is in heaven now, and finally out of pain, and with a lot of fun people.
My best and prayers,
Jane
