Obituary for Mildred D Magin (Hulings)

Mildred D. (Hulings) Magin, of Wenonah, age 95, passed away Friday, May 30th, 2014. She was born in Wenonah, raised in Barnsboro, graduated from Pitman High School, class of 1937, and was a Wenonah resident for 63 years.

Mildred loved all aspects of homemaking and was noted for her baking and cooking skills. She also enjoyed raising African violets, doing needlework, and reading. She loved all animals, but her favorite was Astro le Beau, a rescued Great Dane . She had no grand-children, but thoroughly enjoyed her numerous grand-animals. Mildred was a Nurses’ Aide at Cooper Hospital in Camden during WWII, and a former member of the Desk & Derrick Assoc. of Philadelphia and the Wenonah Woman’s Club. She was also a long-standing member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church of Wenonah. Mildred was a lovely, warm and gracious lady. She had a keen sense of humor and her dry wit was present to the end. Mildred will be greatly missed.

Wife of the late Vernon C. “Dutch” Magin. Mildred and Dutch were high school sweethearts. She could be always be found supporting Dutch on the athletic field of PHS. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Barbara Lee Magin of Wyoming.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 5th, at the Memorial Presbyterian Church of Wenonah, 202 E. Mantua Ave., Wenonah, NJ 08090. Burial to follow at Woodbury Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the PC Fund for Animals, PO Box 4220, Jackson, WY 83001 or to the Animal Charity of your choice.
