Peter Hess age 95, of Mantua passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019. Born in Philadelphia to Joseph Hess and Helen (nee Krompasky), he served in the Army during WWII. He was a lifelong resident of Mantua, and was employed at Mobil Oil Refinery where he retired as a Field Engineer. Pete was a member of VFW Lawson-Cox Post 7679 in Mantua, and the Flying Red Horseman. He enjoyed his pool, and hosting family friends and neighborhood kids for years.

Husband of the late Gladys (nee Rivell), he is survived by his daughter, Joanne E. Hess, three grandchildren, Patrick (Maggie), Lois (Shannon) and Dawn (Frank), seven great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Patrick, Emily, Megan, Tatyana, Tyler and Cole.

Family and Friends may visit from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, February 22nd, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ.
