Obituary for Raymond T. Runyan Sr

Raymond T. Runyan Sr., age 85 of Mantua, on Monday, October 26th, 2009.  Born in Palmer MA, he had been a resident of Mantua 50 years. Ray was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and worked for State Equipment Montgomeryville, PA.
Ray enlisted in the Navy, served during WWII and retired as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service.  He spent time overseas in Europe & Asia and later assisted in commissioning the USS New Jersey.  Ray was the Worshipful Master of the Mantua Masonic Lodge, Consistory Royal Arch, Fleet Reserve #57, he served as Patron for the Pitman Eastern Star and enjoyed the Romeo Club.
 
Husband of Selina J. (nee Batten), he is also survived by two sons, Ray T. Runyan, Jr. of Jacksonville FL, Charles Runyan & wife Anna Mae of Mantua, two daughters, Pamela Runyan of Mantua, Cindy Suplee & her husband Bill of Gibbstown, 7 grandchildren, Raymond III, Randy and Robby Runyan, Erica & Andrew Agren, Sarah & Tommy, and 6 great grandchildren.  Ray was pre deceased by his daughter Gale Marie.
 
Relatives and friends may visit with the family 7 to 9 PM Wednesday (Masonic service at 8 PM), and 10 to11 AM Thursday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main St., Mantua NJ where funeral services will be held at 11AM.  Interment will be in Wenonah Cemetery.
