Rex A. Sheppard, 79, of Sewell, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2019. He bravely fought Parkinson's disease for over 20 years. Rex had proudly served our nation for 32 years in the United States Army on active duty and in the USAR and rose to the rank of colonel. He was also a teacher in the Washington Township Public Schools for over 30 years. As an avid angler, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially flyfishing in the rivers of Alaska, Colorado, Maine, Montana, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wyoming.

Rex is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn; daughter Lesli and grandson Grant; his sister Carol and her husband Jeri; and other extended family and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by daughter Renee and his parents Jack and Jean Sheppard.
