Condolence: A strong man with a gentle hug. He turned up first when you needed someone to lean on. He let you know where he stood on most issues with a short, sometimes humorous, quip. He loved gathering his family around him at birthdays, holidays, picnics or dinners. A man before his time who brought home the bacon, helped cook it up, and then cleaned up. A Hallmark guy whose Christmas card arrived first and who must have spent hours of his life in a card store. A tireless leader and volunteer for his community fire department, whether responding to a disaster, driving a truck through the parade, or patting oysters. A camper with the mantra of "USA". A father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cuddled the latest newborn to the Scull clan with a gentle touch.

I am proud to have called him Dad for some 23 years. After Bruce and I went our separate ways, I continued to know and love him though my children as Grandpop. I am only sorry that I cannot be with you for his funeral. Please know that my prayer is for you all to find peace in his legacy. My love to the Scull clan. Shirley

Condolence: The Chief's legacy of dedication to public service and community should be a shining example for all of those who have chosen a similar path. He gave for the good of all and never asked for anything in return. A true gentleman and family man who will always be respected by those who knew him either as family or as 224-01. Even though his last alarm has sounded, he will always be remembered. RIP Chief.

Condolence: Robert was a great person to talk to: knowledgeable in many areas; thoughtful in what he said. He was a true gentleman indeed. Perhaps his greatest contribution was living a life in service to others. Although this world is a little less without him, those of us who were touched by him can pass on the gift of his good influence to our children and our friends. It was an honor to know him.
