Obituary for Ruth P. Dunn

Ruth P. Dunn (nee Friel) age 83, of Oak Valley passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she has been a resident of Oak Valley since 1960. Ruth met her husband while they were members of the Osmond Drum & Bugle Corps in Philadelphia. She was a former Girl Scout Leader where she was awarded their highest honor, and a tabulator for the National Judges Association. Ruth and her husband were the founders of the Royal Cavaliers Color Guard. She enjoyed camping down the shore in North Wildwood. Ruth loved her family, adored her grandchildren, and was known as "Grandmom Dunn" to all her family & friends.

Wife of Robert W. Dunn for 62 years, she is also survived by her daughters, Patricia R. Shannon (James) and Carol A. Darrow, grandchildren, Kristy & Michael Shannon, Daniel & Brandi Darrow, and a great granddaughter, Erin Shannon. Ruth was predeceased by her sister, Anne Maitha.

Family & friends may visit from 9:30 to 11 AM Thursday, September 24th, 2015 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Monroe Twp., NJ. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com
