Obituary for Stanley Skabicki

Stanley Skabicki
Stanley “Stas” Skabicki, 70, passed away on January 31, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Stan was born in Camden, NJ on August 20, 1945. He attended St. Joseph High School in Camden and obtained an Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration at Goldy Beacom College. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965, and received training to become a jet engine mechanic. He received an honorable discharge in 1969. He was then employed at Altair Airlines at Philadelphia International Airport. After some time, he was hired by United Engineers at Salem Nuclear Power Plant. He spent the last part of his career as a Quality Assurance Engineer at PSE&G, where he eventually retired in 2003.
Stan met his wife, Angie, on February 9, 1974 and were married after a brief courtship on August 31, 1974. Stan and Angie moved to Clarksboro, NJ in 1975. They built their life together and had one beautiful daughter, Charlene Marie.
Stan certainly enjoyed retirement. Golfing was his favorite hobby. He enjoyed visiting different courses on the east coast and played in a weekly golf league, as well. He liked going down to the shore to fish and enjoyed an occasional outing shooting sporting clays. Stan could be found in his garage building or fixing something. He also enjoyed planting his vegetable garden.
They loved to visit different places together, as well as with their best friends, Linda and John. Stan and Angie traveled to Florida twice a year to visit their daughter and the yearly family vacations to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, will always be a treasured memory.
Stanley will be remembered as a hard-working, kind, and loving man. He would do anything for anybody, and never expected anything in return. He was loved by many friends.
He was the loving son of the late Anthony and Anna T. He is survived by his loving wife, Angeline (nee Seder), his beloved daughter, Charlene Marie of Altamonte Springs, FL, father-in law, Walter Seder and his late mother-in-law, Angeline of Woodbury, NJ, brother-in-laws, Walter A. Seder (Linda H.) of Washington Township, NJ, the late Captain Kenneth E. Seder, and sister-in-law, Maria Kathy Seder of Woodbury, NJ. Nieces and nephews, Krista-Lynne (Eric) Morrow of Texas and Kenneth M. (Michele) Seder of Texas. He is also survived by loving cousins and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051 on Friday, February 5th from 6-8pm and also at Holy Angels Parish, 64 Cooper Street, Woodbury, NJ, on Saturday, February 6th, from 10am-10:45am. Funeral mass to follow at 11:00am. Private burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Stan’s memory may be made to www.firsttee.org, an organization that supports teaching golf to youths or to the Gloucester County Veterans Advisory Council, Veterans Affairs, PO Box 337, Woodbury, NJ 08096 Attn. Bob Jonas. Checks payable to Veterans Advisory Council.
