Obituary for Suzanne Schaeffer (Wasilauski)

Suzanne Schaeffer (nee Wasilauski), age 65 of West Deptford, NJ died peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Born in Camden, she grew up in Westville and lived in West Deptford since 1995. She was an enthusiastic 'Parrothead' and a passionate Kohl's clearance rack shopper. When Sue committed to a project she dedicated all of her energy to it. This included Shih Tzu Rescue and the Woodbury High School Class of 1965 reunions. For the Class of '65 she initiated 1st Friday Luncheons at Hollywood Diner and organized charitable activities including 'Toys for Tots' and a Christmas food drive and collection of gently used toys. Sue also enjoyed travelling, particularly trips to Alaska, Europe and the Galapagos Islands.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Robert Schaeffer, her sons: Jeffrey R. Schaeffer and his wife Lisa of Woolwich Twp., and Eric M. Schaeffer and his wife Mary Jane of Point Pleasant, NJ, granddaughters: Kathryn, Erica and Rebecca Schaeffer and her dogs: Penni and Max.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 9-11 AM Friday, February 15 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ. Graveside services will follow at 11:30 AM at Woodbury Memorial Park, Kings Highway & Jessup Road, West Deptford, NJ. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.
