Obituary for William E Russell (Russell) III

William E Russell III age 87, of Mullica Hill passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Born in Clayton, he served in the US Navy Seabees stationed in the Philippines during WWII. Bill had been a resident of Mullica Hill for 55 years and worked as a house mover for his family business, William E. Russell & Sons. He moved many historical structures in the eastern US. He was a past president of the Harrison Township and Glassboro Rotary Club. He was a Paul Harris award recipient. He was instrumental in developing the Department of Recreation in Harrison Twp. and donated the donated and built the building and picnic pavilion at the park in his son’s memory. He was awarded an honorary engineering degree by the state of Pennsylvania.

Bill is survived by his wife Jacqueline (nee Burkett), his daughter, Barbara Rylander and her husband Anthony of Dallas, TX, grandchildren, William Rylander & his wife Erica, and Joshua Rylander, one great granddaughter Kagome, niece Susan Russell, and two brothers, Kenneth Russell of CA & Robert Russell of Mullica Hill. He was predeceased by his children, William C. Russell and Kathryn Ann Russell.

Family & friends are invited to a memorial service with military honors at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Rd., Williamstown, NJ on Wednesday, September 17th at 2 PM.
