Memories of Bud

I first met Bud in Woodbury on King Street, after he dug out a basement under his home. He was such a hard worker, never afraid to tackle physical labor, always improving and remodeling his home – no matter where he lived - designing his landscape, building landscape walls, walkways and digging gardens.  He loved to garden and grew the most amazing egg plants, zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes, to name a few. We always admired his strength and his determination, especially when he tried to catch the huge, pesky ground hog that lived behind his house and invaded his garden. He and Gail also raised two amazing children, Denise and Drew, both of whom grew into equally strong, determined, loyal and loving adults. Although Bud worked hard, he also played hard, especially with his love of golf. More recently, Bob and I have fond memories of making wine together with Bud and Gail, “Top Down Wine” – a Syah/Cabernet with a label featuring a picture of Bud’s treasured T-Bird and our Z-4. Bud’s love for his wife, Gail, his family and especially his grandchildren – Kelsey, Lacey, Shaylee and Andrew – will never be forgotten. He lives on in all of our memories and in their hearts.    Love, Evelyn & Bob Scholl
