Summers in Woodbury, NJ

Jimmy and I were both named Jimmy, so when I got together with the McLaughlins  both heads would turn when somebody yelled "Jimmy".

Between the ages of about 7 and 10, every summer I came over to Aunt Ann Stanley's (my Mom's sister) in Woodbury to spend two weeks with the Stanleys and McLaughlins.  Uncle Bud and Aunt Ann were my hosts, and I always looked forward to the time when my Mom, Eleanor Talbot, would take me to the Chester Ferry to let me ride it across the Delaware by myself, to meet Aunt Ann on the :Jersey" side of the river.  Jimmy Mc would always be my playmate during this time, and we got into a lot of mischief.  He would take me fishing over at the lake in Woodbury, and we would try to catch frogs and tadpoles or fish.

I remember one time at dusk, when the mosquito sprayer jeep would come around and he said, "let's go chase the jeep while they spray."  We were -----ing crazzy, but did it anyway as kids.

Jimmy was a great guy and we maintained our friendship over the years, not as much in the past 15 or so, but we always went fishing on his boat down at Sea Isle once he was firmly located there with his beach house.

I'm sad to think that none of us will have his good humor, generous hospitality, or share his love for the water with us anymore!

To his family, I can only say try to remember him every day for the wonderful man he was.  He took care of you all, and never thought to ask for thanks.

My condonlences,

Jim and Nancy Talbot
