Obituary for Joseph F. Gaffney

Joseph F. Gaffney passed away Wednesday, August 20th, 2014 at home. Joseph was a Mantua resident for 28 years, he served in the Marines during the Vietnam War, and worked for 32 years at Mannington Mills in Salem. He was a former member of the Centre City Fire Company, enjoyed following the Eagles and Phillies, playing pool, bowling, and just building things.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 40 years Diane (Callahan) Gaffney, daughters Carolyn Gaffney (David), Jennifer Rauch (Chris), Michelle Gaffney, 1 sister, and 5 brothers. Predeceased by daughter Melissa Gaffney. Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 8:30 am to 10:00 am Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am in Church Of The Incarnation. Burial with military honors to follow at Wenonah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Disabled American Veterans PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or www.dav.org.
